Miracle — Poem by Denitsa Ilcheva (2013)

The geezer pisses in an inflatable pool

at the end of my winter anxiety

I crave a miracle

huge like a paranormal trash

I hang my smile on my ears

just to put on the right face

I insult the norm in the shape

of a fat Strasbourg sausage

I swim in my inflatable pool

I like snow yellow like piss

I want something smooth, a surprise

or a swollen cherry pie

I run a factory of false hopes,

just to piss off normal people

I suffocate them in a black shirt

in the name of my glory

I want a miracle shaped

like a miraculous email, a clear letter

full of praise or a group

of potato-puffs rolling on the floor

I pulled an old geezer by his ears

and wrapped my arms around his neck

I murdered him and felt okay,

delighted by his miraculous death.
